I think what we are looking for here is the fair processing notice that is issued WITH the contract to all new starters. As Tim says there is not much point putting it IN the contract because changing the terms is not something you would wish to do just because a privacy notice needs updating.

Surely the contract of employment refers to "all of X's policies, as amended from time to time" and that meets all the needs?

I would not ever mention DP issues in a CofE in the same manner that I would not mention Health and Safety or Non Discrimination

The objective is to develop and deploy policies when needed and to draw the staff's attention to the fact that a new policy exists which they are contractually bound to follow.

But you are asking this question here and that makes me think I am missing the point.
