Art libraries and the book trade today: e4 Libraries. Free seminar and social.

The ARLIS Cataloguing and Classification Committee invites you to its second 'art libraries and the book trade' evening event. An opportunity to discover where the book trade, libraries and technology meet and how this enhances services to the user.  As well as presentations from experts in the field, there will be plenty of opportunity to discuss the issues with colleagues from other art libraries and institutions. See below for details of speakers.

Speakers
David Kennedy, Library Sales Executive (South), Nielsen Book
David will talk about Nielsen Book’s involvement in the e4Libraries scheme, the development of the e4Libraries Subject Category Headings and how these have been incorporated into Nielsen Book’s range of library services. He will finish by discussing the practical applications associated with using the codes and the benefits they offer librarians.

Jennifer Cox, Stock Services Unit Manager, Bromley Libraries
Bromley Libraries are in the process of introducing the e4Libraries Subject Category Headings and Jennifer will talk about why they have chosen to use the codes, their experiences implementing the codes and the benefits they expect to gain from using them.

Catherine Cook, Senior Business Systems Analyst, Westminster Libraries
Catherine is part of the BIC e4Libraries committee and handled Westminster’s bid for e4Libraries accreditation. She will talk about her experiences on the committee, what accreditation means for Westminster Libraries and how she manages the various IT systems involved
