Nothing is wrong with the placebo itself.  The problem is big businesses lying about it's power in order to sell it.  They muddy the waters of good science with bogus studies and testimonials from quacks with mail order PhD's.

Subject: [PSCI-COM] An 'alternative' form of Science Communication?

Hi all

We're all familiar with Science busking. Busking is an illegal/prohibited activity in many places, though. So in that spirit, I recently tried a little science communication of my own via the medium of illegal activities.

Didn't break any laws, obviously, but saw something that thoroughly irked me and simply had to do something about it. It's explained here

If anyone else chooses to engage in similar renegade behaviour that would be cool. Just blame me though if you get caught. I'm freelance so can't be sacked.
