*Science London presents...*
*The Science of Football Injuries*

*Date:* Tuesday 8 June, 7pm warm-up for a 7.30pm kick-off
*Place:* Upstairs at The Lamb, Lambs Conduit Street, WC1N
*Map:* http://www.youngs.co.uk/pub-detail.asp?PubID=421
*Cost:* FREE!

Everyone's pinning their hopes on the England players for the World Cup,
but we'll need to be lucky at more than penalties. Beckham won't be
playing thanks to a snapped Achillies' tendon, and there are worries
about Rooney's groin and ankle too. Are footballers more susceptible to
certain injuries? Do they train too hard before big matches? And how are
such injuries affecting all our involvement in sports?

*Join us for Science-London's World Cup themed Cafe-scientifique, with
sports injury expert Nicola Maffulli, from Queen Mary's Centre for
Sports and Exercise Medicine.*

This is your chance to quiz the Prof about those all-important
footballer injuries, followed by your usual science chat and goings-on
until the bar shuts!

Although mainly for adults, this event is open to anyone over 16 yrs,
and everyone should enjoy this event. And - most importantly - IT'S
FREE! :-)

*No need to register, visit http://football.science-london.com for full
details!*

See you there,
Simon
