SPD is Personal Data that relates to an individual's physical or mental
health or condition. That's what Section 2(e) of the DPA says.

Depends on the individual case I would say. If everyone is required to
attend and nothing is revealed beyond "Joe Bloggs has a hearing test-as
did all & sundry..." then, no SPD.

It doesn't "relate to" as such in that it does not say "Joe Bloggs is
deaf"

However, if they have a record of health concerns being raised, then
yes-even if compulsory-I can see potential"SPD". Probably being
over-cautious, but......

I would not post such information on a noticeboard though-that seems bad
practice. Contact them directly to arrange the appointment.

Subject: [data-protection] Sensitive personal data ?

Views please.

Call centre starts a free hearing test scheme for its staff who wear
headphones all day. Manager emails all staff with deatils. Those wanting
to take up offer email back. Appointments are made on their behalf. List
of appointments drawn up and pinned on noticeboard.

Q Is the fact that someone is going for a hearing test in this scenario
sensitive personal data i.e does it relate to his physical health or
condition. If so why ?

Things you might consider :

If it was a compulsory hearing test almost certainly it would not be
sensitive personal data.

So if it is, then presumably this is because the act of accepting the
offer suggests for some at least that they have a concern about their
hearing ? But since others will accept a freebie on principle the fact
of aceptance clearly does not say anything about any individual in this
respect.
