I have been asked to start a service review for the Archives and there are some options that I need to investigate:
  1. Shared services: I have spoken to a few people who have instigated shared service agreements with other councils which did not employ staff to carry out that job.  I would be particularly interested to hear from anyone who has been involved with two or more archive services merging or working together in some way.
  2. Working with the private sector: has anyone managed to get a private sector organisation to pay for a certain number of days per week/month/year of their time?
