within biometrics:

 

Job Title:                                Senior Statistician, Oncology


Work Location:                   Basel, Switzerland

Job Type:                               6 month rolling contract

Rate:                                        Up to 1000 CHF per day

 

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

*          Serve as the lead for Biostatistics and Statistical Reporting
activities within one or more drug programs in Oncology area.

*          Responsible for all statistical input at the program level
e.g. translational medicine plan, early clinical development plan,
strategic planning from first-in-human study to proof-of-concept,

*          Responsible for all statistical tasks of the assigned
clinical studies e.g. clinical trial design/planning, analysis plan,
reporting activities, support to publications, and any statistical
consultation during the running phase.

*          Promote and implement innovative approaches to study design
and decision making, as well as opportunities for modeling and
simulation. 

*          In depth knowledge and expertise in statistics and its
applications to clinical trials, in particular the use of Bayesian
statistics in decision making.

*          Solid knowledge of drug development process and guidelines
especially in regard to early drug development. 

*          Track and resource project and clinical trial activities and
milestones.

*          Follow processes and adhere to and project specific standards
as well as Health Authority requirements (SOPs, Master Analysis Plan,
GCP and regulatory guidelines).

 

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates applying should have the following:

*          At least Masters degree in Statistics (or equivalent degree)
with  significant experience or PhD in Statistics with some experience
as a statistician or project statistician for international clinical
teams 

*          Experience in Oncology Statistics and applied Bayesian
methodology is highly desirable

*          Good project management skills with high degree of autonomy
in performing assigned duties

*          Expert knowledge of drug development process & relevant
health authority guidelines

*          Fluent English (oral and written)

*          Knowledge of statistical software packages, e.g., Strong
knowledge of WinBUGS, R, SAS

*          Good communication & presentation skills
