POSTDOCTORAL POSITION - The Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital in partnership with the Martinos Centers at MGH (http://www.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/martinos/) and at MIT (http://web.mit.edu/mitmri/) is establishing a new research program in the application of real-time functional MRI for the treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders. The goals of this research are to develop treatment protocols that use neurofeedback from salient regionally specific fMRI data to augment psychotherapy. He/she will carry out real-time fMRI experiments to validate the protocols in healthy controls and patient populations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of experienced clinical and basic scientists to develop experimental paradigms, training protocols and real-time data analysis methods. Requirements: Ph.D. or M.Sc. degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field; Experience in statistical analysis of medical imaging data; Strong programming skills in C++, IDL, MATLAB, and UNIX for brain image processing and analysis; Basic knowledge of functional and/or clinical neuroanatomy; Skills that would be a plus: Python, Perl, statistics packages such as R, SPSS, SAS; Other relevant skills include working knowledge of data mining tools, such as ICA or pattern classification; Must be self-motivated, resourceful, be able to multi-task, prioritize, be a team player and have strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
