Information Access Support Officer

37 hours per week
£22,221 - £23,708 per annum 
County Hall, Worcester

Worcestershire County Council is looking for a self-motivated individual to support the Information Access Officer in working strategically with employees across the authority in managing the Council's response to information legislation enquiries. 

Educated to degree level or equivalent you will possess a postgraduate qualification in a discipline relevant to information management and have a significant experience of working in an information, policy or records field. You will have a proven understanding of the Data Protection Act (DPA), Freedom of Information Legislation (FoI) and the Environmental Information Regulations and their implications for public authorities. Qualifications in this area would be an advantage.

You will have excellent communication skills and be well-organised in your work. Proven influencing skills will be important in this role, as will a strong regard for confidentiality and the ability to work well as part of a team.

The duties will include assisting in responding to subject access requests, jointly developing policy and procedures to meet the demands of FoI and involvement in information sharing initiatives between the County Council and other organisations. You will report to the Information Access Officer and deputise as appropriate.
