Subject: Middlesex university update; Hendon rally on Thurs 27 May at 4pm

Dear all,

With apologies for another mass mailout; this is likely to be a decisive week at Middlesex.

As many of you already know, last Friday four students and three members of staff (Peter Osborne, Christian Kerslake & me) were suspended, pending an investigation into the recent occupations at Trent Park (http://savemdxphil.com/2010/05/21/the-library-sit-in-is-over-the-campaign-continues/). The staff suspensions block us from entering University premises or from communicating 'in any way' with Middlesex students and employees. For more on the suspensions see http://savemdxphil.com/2010/05/25/more-information-about-the-philosophy-suspensions/.

We've posted a few of the many letters we've received about the suspensions in the last couple of days at http://savemdxphil.com/letters-of-support/letters-condemning-suspensions/. If you'd like to write a letter about this or about the closures and haven't already done so you'll find the addresses posted at http://savemdxphil.com/how-you-can-help/; please BCC your letter (if you're willing for us to make it public) to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

A brief overview of the whole situation is posted at http://savemdxphil.com/about/.

We'll be holding a rally to protest the closures and suspensions and their wider implications at the main Middlesex campus, at Hendon, this Thursday 27 May, starting at 4pm; for more details please see the site homepage at http://savemdxphil.com/, or http://savemdxphil.com/2010/05/26/rally-in-solidarity-with-suspended-staff-and-students/. Please encourage everyone who might be able to get to Hendon on Thursday to come along, and please circulate this announcement to everyone who might be sympathetic,

all best, Peter.
