We use ezproxy to authenticate to almost all our non-Shibbolised resources. This uses staff and students' University accounts so we don't need to provide service specific usernames/passwords for these resources any more. This works seamlessly with our SFX linking, but it does mean users have to use the links on our web pages for accessing these services directly as the service url has to include our proxy url as well. Hope this helps. Gill Morris Electronic Services Librarian Reference and Information Division University of Strathclyde Library 101 St James' Rd, Glasgow G4 0NS. We also change the password once every semester. If users are on-site they can see the webpage automatically, if however they are off-campus they are required to authenticate with their network login details before the page will display. I would be interested to hear if anyone has a better way of doing this. We don't have many to worry about, and I won't reveal to the list how we currently do things, but information on what others do would be much appreciated. Feel free to be as technical as you like: our IT folk don't quite get what I'm driving at... Thanks in advance!
