Dear All

The message below is pretty much self explanatory. If you have had problems with schools demanding sight of CRB disclosure forms (which they are absolutely not entitled to do) and are willing to share your experiences in the interests of getting this mess sorted out please contact James Piercy NOT ME!

Thanks

Richard.

Subject: [PSCI-COM] Requests to see CRB disclosures
Reply-To: "psci-com: on public engagement with science"              <[log in to unmask]>

Apologies for cross posting.

Members of the British Interactive Group have noticed a significant rise in the number of schools asking to see copies of CRB disclosure forms before allowing entry to their premises.
There is no requirement from the CRB, OFSTED or DCSF (as was) for this, and there is a strong feeling that schools are needlessly over-reacting. I have been in correspondence with OFSTED and DCSF who seem unwilling to acknowledge a problem or to take action to remedy the situation.

My next step is to compile a list of specific cases to highlight the extent of the issue and to avoid the charge of 'anecdotal reports'

if any readers of the list have experienced this and would be willing to share the details, please contact me off list.

Many thanks
