This course is organized jointly by the Netherlands school of Government (NIG) and the Skandinavian political science PHD network (POLFORSK). It will draw together PhD students and from both networks (and if possible from other European countries) and leading academics (and occasionally elsewhere) who are working on various aspects of network governance. It will create a learning community in which PhD students will:
* Develop their knowledge base on governance networks
* Strengthen their theoretical and methodological approach
* Test out their ideas and conclusions with leading researchers
* Contextualise their research in a comparative, multi-national setting
* Build a network of researchers in the field
