Join us for the launch of the first in our Documents for Recent Drawing (D4RD) Monograph Series, Phantasieblume Nick Fox, and Z4RD Volume 2: Box of Desires, guest edited by Paul Kindersley, the second edition of Z4RD, released to coincide with the C4RD’s exhibition HAND JOY.

The first in our Documents for Recent Drawing (D4RD) Monograph Series, Phantasieblume, - NIck Fox, a survey of the work of artist Nick Fox. Edited with an introduction by Andrew Hewish, Director of C4RD, an introduction Paul Stone of Vane Gallery, essays by Philip Auslander and Stephanie Brown, with contributions from Clive Jennings, George Chakravarthi and Matthew Hearn and full-colour images of work from his 2009 exhibition currently on show with additional work at Vane, Newcastle. Phantasieblume is 25x20cm in size, has 68 pages, a hard cover bound in red book-cloth and is published in an edition of 650. During the launch Phantasieblume is available at the special launch price of £12 (normal price £15). A signed limited edition of Phantasieblume containing a laser cut digital print (above right), reverse hand-printed and signed by the artist is also available, bound in navy blue book-cloth. Published in an edition of 50, for The Late Shows and until the end of the exhibition at Vane it is available at the special price of £50 (normal price £65).


The second edition of Z4RD, is released to tie-in with the C4RD’s exhibition HAND JOY, which explores eroticism, desire, possession, longing and the body through drawing. Each artist contributed 20 original artworks, ranging from original drawings to poems to DVDs to photos. This edition is a unique opportunity to own a collection of exciting artworks by new and established international artists. Curated by Paul Kindersley, Volume 2 is presented in a plain brown cardboard box, that, like Pandora’s, when opened unleashes the secrets, desires and fantasies of the artists involved. A cornucopia of drawings, from the pornographic to the abstract, exploring the energy of the artists hand. A plain box, a time capsule, hidden under a bed, opened in private, explored, each encounter offers up something different, individual artworks, for the owner to paw over, investigate, watch, read. Trying to evoke the excitement and longing of desire, Box of Desires, presents a unique artwork, a thrilling secret exhibition.
