Hi All, Sorry emailed by mistakes best wishes Anna Date: Thu, 13 May 2010 19:58:29 +0000 From: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: Research To: [log in to unmask] Hi Emma, Sorry for the delay in replying. I am actually not continuing on with this research idea, unfortunately, it was deemed a Phd level thesis instead of a clinical psychology level research project. I got a few emails, was there anything in particular you were interested in? Best wishes Anna Date: Fri, 30 Apr 2010 13:32:35 +0100 From: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: Research To: [log in to unmask] Hi Charles, It might be too late in the day for my response to your email below but I would be interested to read the email you received on this research area. I think we have met briefly once or twice when David Fryer was still at Stirling University as part of the community critical reading group. I don’t know very much about the SMHRN or the PDGs; maybe others on the list know more? From the email I received, the main purpose of the groups was stated as ‘to bring together researchers and clinicians with a shared interest in a specific topic and focus on the production of high quality, fundable research proposals’. If excepted as a PDG, the group would have funds up to £5000 to support the development of a research proposal, which the SMHRN would attempt to fund (or suggest possible funds to apply for). My understanding is that the aim of the group is to develop ideas for research in their chosen area and submit at least one application to a research funder within 18-months of the PDG award. The award is to ‘support protocol development activities, in addition to administrative and methodological support for the Network team’. I’ve spoken with someone from the SMHRN about areas of research that would be considered and they said they’d be keen to receive an application from a group interested in critical and community psychology. I was wondering whether anyone on the list would be interested working together to put forward an application to become a PDG and then working together to develop a research project. I’d be keen to hear from others in Scotland interested in putting together something (in terms of my location) but I’d be more than happy to hear from anyone (anywhere else) who’d be interested. The only stipulation of the SMHRN is that the lead researcher is based in Scotland. I currently work in a child and adolescent mental health service but I’d be happy to involved in others areas if others are interested. If anyone wants more information, I’m happy to forward the email I received.
