Hello

Has anyone tried to prevent pdf files from being saved locally by users from Blackboard and if so how?

By this I mean, can one add security to the pdf file itself in Acrobat? As far as I can see you can apply security settings to prevent opening, editing, copying and printing but there's no security setting to prevent saving to local drives.

Or, can one apply settings within Blackboard Content System (we're on 8) to allow files to be opened from a link but not downloaded/save target as, etc?

I'm sure in a previous life I've received pdf files from a third party supplier (possibly copyrighted materials from Harvard) which did not allow people to save them from web pages but can't work out how they did it.

Any advice gratefully received.

Regards
Linda
