*Post-Doctoral Fellow in Infectious Disease Epidemiology*

School of Public Health, the University of Hong Kong. Appointment will be made for a period of 2-3 years, with the possibility of renewal. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.

The University Grants Committee (Hong Kong) support an Area of Excellence in 'Control of Pandemic and Inter-Pandemic Influenza', with which is associated a new Postoctoral Fellow position in the School of Public Health. The appointee will work under the guidance of senior staff on the analysis of data from ongoing and completed large community studies of influenza and other respiratory viruses, as well as theoretical work on experimental design and analysis, and publish their findings in leading scientific journals. The PDF position is research-focused with strict limits on teaching responsibilities, suitable for early career scientists.

Applicants should have or be about to complete a PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or an equivalent qualification, an interest in both methodology and applications, and should have demonstrated research potential. Experience in any of these areas would be valuable: infectious disease modelling, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, Bayesian inference and MCMC.
