Dear list-members,

I am doctoral student at the Institute of Geography, University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. I am currently working on a study on art and culture in urban projects. I would like to better understand why and how art (artists and their productions) is being included in urban projects nowadays, what is its purpose and under what conditions.

I am particularly interested in urban projects that include infrastructure for ART PRODUCTION in their planning, as for example the urban project on Ile de Nantes (France) which includes an “artistic laboratory” called “La Fabrique” with designated studios and areas for artistic creation and experimentation.

Does anyone know of any examples of similar urban projects (already realized or still in progress) that include areas for artistic production/creation in its planning?

I am also interested in literature about this topic and would appreciate if you had any interesting suggestions for me.

Many thanks and kind Regards,

Valérie Sauter
