Dear List,
Would very much appreciate your thoughts or advice. An employee employed as a
production operator on his first day at work told his manager that he could
not dig out cream from the bunker or carryout any manual handling as he
suffers from mitral valve regurgitation and hypertension he is reviewed by
his cardiologist regularly. My problem is that I only work for the company
ad-hoc and had not received this man's health questionnaire before he
started,he volunteered the information on his form. His manager is now
wanting to sack him one of the reasons (many others given)is that his
contract states subject to satisfactory health clearance. I thought that
once a contract was agreed then
the employee would have certain rights. and the above statement would not
hold.Would value your opinions.
Regards
Lyn
