I have been sent a quote (Haydn's Dictionary of Dates 1892) which refers to mining a 'new' lode of pitchblende at Union Mine, Grampound Road in 1889, and also a reference to small amounts being mined, as well as waste heaps re-dressed for uranium, at Trenwith Mine, St Ives during WW1. Does anyone have any further details about mined uranium and the subsequent dressing operation for Cornwall, or re-dressing of waste dumps (other than South Terras).

Many thanks,
