This is your chance to join CILIP Career Development Group (London and South East Divisions) tour of the:

ROYAL COLLEGE OF NURSING LIBRARY

Date: Tuesday 18th May 2010

Time: 14:00 - 16:00

The RCN represents nurses and nursing, promotes excellence in practice and shapes health policies. They aim to represent the interests of nurses and nursing and be their voice locally, nationally and internationally. The RCN also aims to influence and lobby governments and others to develop and implement policy that improves the quality of patient care, and builds on the importance of nurses, health care assistants and nursing students to health outcomes.

The RCN library is one of the biggest specialist nursing libraries in the world and holds the Steinberg Collection: a unique reference collection of over 1,000 UK doctoral theses from the 1950s to the present day and masters dissertations to the year 2000 completed by nurses and others on topics of relevance to nursing. As well as offering core book and journal collections the RCN library also provides access to an e-library including e-books, journals and databases.

Who is this for? Those preparing for Chartership, Revalidation or Certification can add reflections on this visit to their portfolio.  Also ideal for anyone simply wishing to learn about the facilities and resources.
