Those of you with an interest in repositories for teaching and learning materials may be interested in the recent ADL Repositories and Registries Summit, which took place online and Washington (well, ok, Alexandria VA) on 13-14 April. This was organized by ADL (Advanced Distributed Learning, the people behind SCORM) to review state of repositories and registries for learning materials in response to some plans for large scale federal funding initiatives for learning materials in the US. Much of the discussion I would recommend following as good summaries: Dan Rehak's ppt summary at <http://groups.google.com/group/registry-and-repository-summit/web/adlrr2010%20summary%20for%20cetisrow.pptx> and Nick Nicholas's series of blog posts at http://interopporesearch.blogspot.com/search/label/ADLRR2010 Also: The outcomes of the summit are summarised at http://groups.google.com/group/registry-and-repository-summit/web/outcomes The position papers which formed the basis for some of the discussions are available at http://groups.google.com/group/registry-and-repository-summit/web/outcomes And the pre-summit "overview" is available at http://groups.google.com/group/registry-and-repository-summit/web/meeting-overview Phil. -- Phil Barker Learning Technology Adviser ICBL, School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences Mountbatten Building, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, EH14 4AS Tel: 0131 451 3278 Fax: 0131 451 3327 Web: http://www.icbl.hw.ac.uk/~philb/ -- Heriot-Watt University is a Scottish charity registered under charity number SC000278.
