Senior GIS Consultant, Glasgow

We are now looking to expand and strengthen our Digital Design team through the recruitment of a Senior GIS Consultant to join our Glasgow office.  

About the role:

You will provide input as the lead GIS specialist in projects including EIA, site selection and capacity studies, in landscape management, planning and transport related studies.  Your work will involve the creation, management and analysis of GIS data and its presentation in attractive hard copy or interactive digital maps.  You will also set out in detail used methodologies and findings in reports.
 
You will be a team player and work very closely with the other GIS, 3D and graphics specialists of the Digital Design Team and other professional staff and will play an active role in the management and development of the team.  You will also be involved in project acquisition and in the promotion of the Digital Design Team’s services.

About you:

If you have the following qualifications, skills and experience we would like to hear from you:
*  GIS or related degree at a 2:1 or above;
*  demonstrable experience of applying GIS technology to landscape, planning and wider environmental issues;
*  extensive experience with using ESRI software products (particularly ArcGIS with spatial and 3D analyst extensions);
*  good statistical skills and practical experience in manipulating data in GIS, databases (Access) and Excel;
*  excellent graphical skills allowing you to create clear and attractive maps;
*  the ability to support and deliver multiple projects simultaneously, to a high standard and in an organised and cost    effective way;
*  excellent written communication skills with the ability to report your findings in a clear and unambiguous way
*  experience of or an aptitude for managing and developing teams; 
*  initiative and the desire to continuously improve and develop work processes;
*  experience with Wind Farm development projects and with Resoft Windfarm software is an advantage.
