CONFERENCE NEWS

*Registration for (U-Th)/He dating workshop now open *

A workshop on (U-Th)/He thermochronology will be held at the University
of Glasgow and SUERC on 21-22 August, 2010. The workshop is suitable for
early career scientists who wish to gain an understanding of the
technique. The focus will be on methodology and will include theoretical
and practical sessions in all relevant aspects of (U-Th)/He
thermochronology.

More information can be found *here
*
<http://web2.ges.gla.ac.uk/Thermo2010/workshops.html>No fee will be
charged for conference participants, but places are limited. An
application form is available* here

Thermo2010 is the 12th International Conference on Thermochronology and
is being hosted by the University of Glasgow, Scotland, from 16-20
August 2010.

We hope that Thermo2010 will appeal to all practitioners and users of
techniques across the broad spectrum of thermochronology. Thermo2010
aims to provide a platform for discussion and debate on all aspects of
thermochronology. We invite contributions from all developmental,
applied and interpretive areas including but not restricted to,
40Ar-39Ar, (U-Th)/He, fission track analysis and U-Pb thermochronology.
Thermo2010 will have the three overarching interdisciplinary themes of:

*Innovation *- the development and innovative applications of
    thermochronological systems
*Integration* - the combination of techniques, methods and models to
    maximise the t-T information
*Interpretation* - the application of thermochronology to
    understanding the Earth

*Scientific Themes *

We strongly encourage submissions from all fields of thermochronology
research, and will endeavour to reflect the interests of Thermo2010
delegates in the final program. Thermo2010 hopes to promote active
participation from a large number of graduate students and early career
researchers. Each of final sessions will accept both oral and poster
presentations.
