Hi.

I'm currently doing a small study (hopefully a pilot for more research) into the effect of when and how often learners use English or their first language on their pronunciation in each of those languages. In short, I want to see if some contexts of langauge use (maybe work, for example) are more beneficial than others in improving/maintaining pronunciation.

The problem is assessing how much langauge people are using where. I could just ask participants to self report a percentage but it seems a bit chancy. A colleague of mine has developped a questionnaire on language use for mums and kids and I'm adapting some of that but I wondered if anyone knows of anything else out there that has been used and that be useful in helping me construct something?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Anne
