If the phone rings and you pick it up and put it down before anyone says anything, how do you know it was a marketing call. In fact how do you know who it was at all ?

The whole thing is farcical anyway, of course. There is no "evidence" in or from the phone call.

 

"He tried to sell to me"

 

"No I didn't"

 

The spirit of the law is being ignored here by the UKIC if their interpretation is correct, and that cannot be right.

What if you trapped the caller by saying: "Yes, I'd like to buy, how much is it", and when they respond with a price, they are nicked!
