I am currently writing something on modelling and am intrigued by the relationship between Tinbergen's left political commitment and his modelling approaches. I would be grateful for any observations from anybody who knows anything about this! Just intrigued to go back to the origins of econometrics which I have always thought of as a tool of neo-liberalism in both theory and practice and find a figure like Tinbergen.
