There are still some places left on the distance learning module Outreach and Community Archives, offered by the Centre for Archive and Information Studies (CAIS) at the University of Dundee. In the module you will cover ● What outreach is, what sorts of activities it involves and how it can be delivered. ● The planning needed for a successful outreach programme, how to manage different activities and how to successfully bid for funding. ● How to gather data about existing audiences, and the local population, and use this to write an audience development plan. ● What community archives are, the potential for working with them and the opportunities and challenges they represent to the formal archive sector. ● Positioning your activities to take account of organisational and governmental agendas. The module lasts for 13 weeks and is one of many that are part of our accredited masters programmes and that can be taken as CPD.
