If you’ve got your formula correct (and many people don’t), you can certainly use it at an albumin of 9 g/l.


See some old (unpublished) data attached.

If we changed the name to "estimated ionised calcium", we would have to change the values to fit in with ionised calcium.
the simplicity of the current "corrected calcium" values is that it will have the same ref range as total calcium (if the correct formula has been used)
