The only description of the osteology of Bubalus of which I am aware was based on the Plesitocene material from the fissures in Szechwan, China, written after the Central Asiatic Expeditions of the AMNH.

Colbert, E. H. Hooijer, D. A. (1953). Pleistocene mammals from the limestone fissures of Szechuan, China. Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist. 102, 1-144.

It is available online from the AMNH.

I think there was a shorter note published when the AMNH mounted a full skeleton from the Chinese material - but that might have been the gaur skeleton.

There have been a few later papers on Bubalus from China, but none to my knowledge discusses the osteology.  The recent description of Bubalus cebuensis did not include much in the way of comparison with recent Bos, but you might dind some of it interesting, if not helpful:

If you are unable to locate the latter reference, let me know by private email and I'll send a pdf.
