Subject: [PSCI-COM] Nature and Biodiversity News & Views: new website

As a contribution to National Science and Engineering Week (12-21 March), a
new website aimed at the general public has been launched. It is called Nature
and Biodiversity News and Views (http://newsandviews.ceh.ac.uk).

Nature and Biodiversity News and Views aims to help raise public awareness of
issues relating to biodiversity and the natural world. The website features a
series of short topical articles on nature and biodiversity. Each topic contains
links to further reading. Alongside each topic is a series of multiple choice
questions. Users can express their views by answering these questions or by
writing a free text comment. Users can also see how people have answered
the questions and read other people's views.

Current topics include harlequin ladybirds, biofuel crops and biodiversity,
farming and wildlife and the reintroduction of beavers to Scotland.

Please take a look and if you like it, let your friends and colleagues know
about it. If the site proves successful the plan is to add further topics: if you
have any suggestions for content, please let me know.

News and Views has been developed by CEH and partners in the European
ALTER-Net network.
