Maybe you get some stats re numbers delivered and type of unit this is and any views re how decisions are made and what policies are followed. I would love to see if we could influence our own stats by introducing any ideas from units like this. We have opened midwife led alongside unit in our maternity and are seeing nearly 1000 women out of total 3600 choosing this option. We are also in process opening stand alone midwife led in another area so hope to impact on stats through these initiatives. For others on list who are fortunate to have stand alone midwife led units in their patch this is first one for N.I and has been years in planning. Keep us informed please and have lovely visit. I have planned a trip to Malmo Sweden on 17th March to 20th March 2010, during this trip I am visiting the Maternity Hospital in Malmo. The reason for my visit is because Malmo Maternity Hospital have a caesarean section rate of 12% and an induction rate of 10%, this is very impressive. During my stay, I would be grateful to link with a Midwife working in this Hospital. If possible could you (the midwife) forward your e-mail and we could communicate off line.
