Maddy,
Do copyright laws prevent you from showing an image to others? I thought they prevented one from reproducing the image in a book or ms. for profit either for oneself or a book company.

p.s. If there is a link to the image, surely that means it is there for all to see. If the photograph belongs to you, you know how to get it on line for the list :-))  If it belongs to someone else, might the someone else be willing to show it around?

I'm looking for comparanda for an Irish miniature showing Christ carrying the cross which I saw briefly in a conference (Salvador will remember this one!). As I recall, Christ was showing the wounds of scourging (presumbly in reference to the 15 Oes) but the cross was also covered with drops of blood. Salvador reminded us that this is an image familiar in Irish poetry - but has anyone seen it depicted visually?
Unfortunately the actual image is copyrhight and I can't forward it to anyone.
