Hi Mia, I may not respond much, but I do skim through many of the emails. As with many people, I would rather receive everything and delete then miss out on some new information/applications etc that I haven't come across. As I don't often login to Twitter (I don't keep tweetdeck open - too distracting! Sorry), I always feel I miss much of the current buzz, so to be able to see everything that's under discussion and choose to filter it myself is a huge plus. Keep those questions, review, reports, summaries, lessons learned, problems encountered, solutions... etc coming I say! Bilkis. Dear MCG-ers, you may have noticed flurries of discussions around topics like APIs and Linked Data (the semantic web is so last decade) on this list, and on various blogs and tweets. I sometimes feel that twitter, while incredibly useful, can also be a bit of an echo chamber, and I think it's important to have these discussions in public rather than disappear off to private email. I've got loads of questions I'd like to ask, and ideas I'd like to share on the subject, but I'm also aware that there are 700-something people on this list, and maybe 20 people actively interested in these geekier discussions. So my question for you all is - how niche is too niche for the MCG list? Are you happy to skim/delete these conversations, or do you feel they clutter up the list or drown out other potential topics? If you'd rather email me off-list that's fine - [log in to unmask] cheers, Mia -------------------------------------------- http://openobjects.org.uk/ http://twitter.com/mia_out **************************************************************** For mcg information visit the mcg website at http://museumscomputergroup.org.uk/ To manage your subscription to this email list visit http://museumscomputergroup.org.uk/email-list/ **************************************************************** **************************************************************** For mcg information visit the mcg website at http://museumscomputergroup.org.uk/ To manage your subscription to this email list visit http://museumscomputergroup.org.uk/email-list/ ****************************************************************
