I would be very grateful = if you could tell us how you manage your roving service, if you have one = (and if you don't have one, why not). In particular we would like to know: Who does it? Professional staff, library assistants, or students? Do you = have dedicated rovers, or do you do something else such as shelving at the = same time? When do you provide a roving service? Just in core hours or all the time = you are open? All year round or just at the start of the year? Do you require rovers to wear a T-shirt/sash/tabard to identify them as = library staff? Do you carry a clipboard/laptop? Do you do roving as well as having fixed enquiry desks? In general, have your experiences of roving been positive or negative? I will summarise responses for the list. Many thanks in anticipation. Leon Leon Perry Bibliographic Resources Officer University Library University of Portsmouth 023 9284 3017
