italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies

Dear Ian,
I'm not sure if you are only interested in narrative or other texts in
Italian as well.
Sciascia and Vittorini mentioned by colleagues are good narratives but
don't deal directly with the Spanish War alone as Spanish writers have
done (I like Pombo Angulo and Sender).

The historical account I like best is still Hugh Thomash _The Spanish
spagnola Torino: Einaudi, 1964)

Some memoirs and personal accounts may be worth looking at.
Here are some titles that might be of interest perhaps (can't add
italics on my browser, sorry):

Vittorio Vidali, Spagna lunga battaglia
Renzo Lodoli, Spagna 1936-1939: i legionari

studi, documenti inediti e testimonianze.
Giacomo Calandrone, La Spagna brucia: cronache garibaldine
in Spagna

Raffaele Lampugnani
