Coming soon: Following the fully-booked events due to run in March and April 2010 we will soon be announcing a June date for the Working with Children’s Services Safeguarding training.  

 

There are still places available on the following training days offered by MLA Council’s Strategic Commisioning team and through the Working with Children’s Services strand of the London Cultural Improvement Programme:

 

Bridging the Gap: Sharing Event and Advice Surgeries for working with Special Educational Needs, Tuesday 23 March 2010

Event description:  This half day event gives participants the opportunity to celebrate best practice for working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), discuss common problems, share solutions and network with a range of professionals with a SEN remit. 

 

Attendees will also be able to book time for one-to-one advice surgeries with representatives from national organisations working in this field. 

Organisations that will be represented include:

-          Mencap

-          Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB)

-          Shape

Commissioning and all that jazz: working with your local authority's Children's Services,  Thursday 25 March 2010

This session will cover the Local Authority landscape, what commissioning is and how to articulate the outcomes that cultural activities deliver to Children's Services.
