BIOLOGICAL STATISTICIAN

An innovative global food company based in the East Midlands is looking to
recruit a biological statistician. This is an opportunity to be part of a
global research team with access to state of the art facilities. The
successful candidate will have the ability to prioritise and manage multiple
tasks, have good interpersonal skills and excellent spoken and written
English.
Salary dependent on experience (competitive rates offered)

The position would initially be on a 1 year contract, with the possibility
of extension to 2 or more years

Roles & Responsibilities:

   - Act as a subject matter expert in the field of biological statistics
   - Consult with project teams to define experimental and statistical
   hypotheses and analysis plans
   - Primary responsibility and/or accountability for experimental design,
   overseeing planned and ongoing trials
   - Perform analyses, derive conclusions and make recommendations based on
   experimental results
   - Communicate designs, results and interpretations clearly to
   non-statisticians
   - Liaise with functional groups and clients to understand and define
   statistical requirements
   - Keep up to date with current developments in the field of statistics
   - Give training in basic statistical methods, data analysis and
   interpretation


Qualifications & Experience:

   - MSc or equivalent experience in biological statistics and data analysis
   or a related field, and proven skills in statistical consultation
   - Broad understanding of statistical methods within the context of
   biological experiments
   - Computer skills are a prerequisite
   - Commitment, integrity and a high level of self-motivation are essential
   - As this work will include design and analysis of complex biological
   trials, previous statistical experience within a research background would
   be preferred
