Please see announcement below:

The laboratory of Dr. Amit Etkin in the Department of Psychiatry is
currently looking for a software developer for multivariate pattern
classification tools for neuroimaging data analysis. The job description can
be found below. Interested applicants can go to jobs.stanford.edu and submit
an application through requisition # 37272. If you have any questions about

The Department of Psychiatry at Stanford University School of Medicine, is
looking for Research Software Developer. This is an exciting opportunity to
work on an NIH-funded project that use advanced imaging techniques to
understand brain networks and their functions across psychiatric disorders.
The successful candidate will have as a primary focus the collaborative
design and implementation of multivariate pattern classification methods for
functional and structural MRI analyses acquired on patients with a range of
mood or anxiety disorders. The candidate will also participate in all other
aspects of data management and analysis related to lab projects, including
basic programming support for ongoing analyses, data archiving and
management of the lab computer network. Since a goal of this work is to
create novel and creative ways to analyze neuroimaging data to provide basic
insight into the brain mechanisms of psychiatric disorders, the successful
candidate will be encouraged to exercise their creativity in achieving these
goals, as well as actively contribute to manuscript preparation.

The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical
Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Neuroscience,
Psychology, or related field; an advanced degree in one of these fields is
preferred. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written
communication skills are required. No formal experience is necessary, but
prefer candidates with academic or industry experience with data and signal
processing particularly as it relates to functional or structural MRI data
processing. Strong computer background and expert use of scripting, Matlab,
and other programming skills required. Experience with multivariate pattern
classification methodology is strongly preferred. Experience with the
acquisition of MRI data, complex physiological monitoring, signal/data
processing, familiarity with MRI and fMRI data analysis, or neuroanatomy are
all desirable.
