Dear IFRTT Forum subscriber, this Newsletter is entirely about our next HVTT12.. The International Forum for Road Transport Technology , www.road-transport-technology.org<http://www.road-transport-technology.org/> has since 1986 arranged symposia on Heavy Vehicle Transport Technology (HVTT), formerly known as International Symposia on Heavy Vehicle Weights and Dimensions (ISHVWD). The next symposium, HVTT11, will take place in Melbourne, Australia, March 14 – 17 2010. See www.hvttconference.com<http://www.hvttconference.com/> We are now looking for alternatives (hosting organisation, time and place) for HVTT12 to be held in 2012 and to be decided at meetings of the IFRTT board when in Melbourne and announced at the dinner in the Victoria State Library. The HVTT attracts legislators, road administrators, academics, consultants, manufacturers, suppliers and operators in the field of road transport world-wide. The aim is to bring together these categories for presentations and discussions, not the least to have better mutual understanding. The theme “Balancing Competing Needs” of HVTT11 clearly reflects this ambition. The topics of the sessions vary and develop from symposium to symposium but the core remains vehicle-infrastructure interaction and complete vehicle approaches to road safety, efficiency and productivity, environment, pavements and policy making. The focus on heavy commercial vehicles makes the HVTT symposia unique. The HVTT12 symposium could be arranged in conjunction with other similar events, e.g. HVTT11 will be succeeded by the Melbourne International Truck, Trailer and Equipment Show and the HVTT10 in Paris was run in parallel with an International Conference on Weigh-In-Motion. I will of course supply more information when asked.. See you in Melbourne in March and drive safely, Anders Lundstrom; IFRTT president *********************************************************** The ROAD-TRANSPORT-TECHNOLOGY mailing list is published by International Forum for Road Transport Technology www.road-transport-technology.org ***********************************************************
