Judy, check www.keh.com they have a large range of used digital and film
cameras. A minolta film SLR can be had as low as 50 bucks. My 35mm slr
is a minolta XG1. But then there are film costs to consider, but even
with digital most students still get taught film. I use keh myself and
they are very reliable.  Go for the bargain rated cameras. They may have
digitals in that range, also.
