Dear Jan
If not too late for Elee - The Royal Albert Memorial
Museum, Exeter holds superb Natural History collections, and although
RAMM is currently closed for redevelopment, upon reopening (in 2011) there
will be dedicated Nat.Hist. galleries, as well as a great deal of Natural
History material combined with other collections. While closed, we have a
small exhibition space in the Exeter Library which combines examples across the
RAMM collections and we have been lending a range of collections, inc.
some Nat. Hist., to museums across the S.W. in a series of temporary
exhibitions. www.rammuseum.org.uk has
more information about the range of collections held at
RAMM.
Best Wishes

Hi All,
Thanks for your responses for the natural history gallery
information for Elee Kirk. She wants to thank everyone for their responses.
She has let me know that she has plenty to be getting on
with for the moment. I will let you know soon if she needs anything
else!
Thanks again,
Jan

Dear
All
Maggie
Reilly was correct to point out that the Natural History galleries in the old
Royal
Museum building are
currently closed for renovations and redevelopments. The “Beginnings” gallery in
the Museum of
Scotland is still very much
open with a mixture of geology and zoology displays. The new galleries,
scheduled to open in 2011, will have 6 (or is it 7) Natural Sciences based
exhibition galleries. There will also be an interactive/hands-on gallery called
“Adventure Planet” which will feature activities for children and young adults.
There will also be a programme of gallery talks and workshops for people of all
ages which will involve both staff from Learning and Programmes and
curators.
We are
still in the developmental stage of all this, but some information is available
at:

Have a
great weekend everyone
