The Leeds Centre for HPS is currently developing two PhD
projects for
which it is actively seeking funding from a number of sources, and
would be pleased to receive expressions of interest from suitably qualified
applicants. The two projects are: (1) A project
connected with the History of Science, Technology and Medicine collections at
the University
(see
http://www.personal.leeds.ac.uk/~phlhpsce/).
(2) A project connected with the
professonal and private papers (housed in the Brotherton Library at the
University of Leeds) of the WW1-era German child psychiatrist and aphasia
specialist Max Isserlin.
For (1), we are looking for
candidates
who will have (by the end of
2009-10) a Master's degree in History of Science, Technology and/or
Medicine, Museum Studies
, or a related
field. For (2), prospective candidates would need
to have (by the end of 2009-10) a Master's
degree in History of Medicine and/or modern German history; strong German
language skills are also required.
