Just for the record, my server is maui-3.2.6p17-1_sl4. Clients on CEs are something different.

Although i get
[root@farm00 ~]# strings  /usr/sbin/maui | grep '^[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]$'
333333

In my case the real key (the one that sorts the problem if added to /opt/glite/etc/maui-key.txt on the client side) is:
[root@farm00 ~]# strings /usr/sbin/maui | grep '^[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]$'
22392

Thanks for the tip,
Gianfranco

Hi Torsten,

Your key is probably not 333333 as I see that when I run the grep on mine also.
Although it is usually a six digit number.  Did your grep not return any other numbers?
There should be more than one number.

Cheers,

Dug

Hi all,

has anybody else tried that?

At least for our CE it seems not to work:

[root@grid-ce5 maui]# strings  /usr/sbin/maui | grep '^[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]$'
333333
[root@grid-ce5 maui]# cat /opt/glite/etc/maui-key.txt
333333
[root@grid-ce5 maui]# diagnose -g --keyfile=/opt/glite/etc/maui-key.txt
ERROR:    lost connection to server
ERROR:    cannot request service (status)
[root@grid-ce5 maui]# tail -2 /var/log/maui.log
