italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies      dear colleagues:
massimiliano chiamenti's post has deeply saddened me, while enrico santangelo's has made me think that this forum could be a place where we also share/discuss our employment experiences.  as an italian national who has been studying and working in the US for 31 years,
i would like to learn more about terms such "precari di terza fascia," which, quite frankly, sounds like a life sentence to me.  moreover, as somebody who landed her first tenure-track position 4 years ago, after 10 years and 500 applications (enrico, this is meant as an encouragement to keep the fight) and has been furloughed at a public university in california, i have something to contribute.
it is my sincere hope that this list's administrator will consider massimiliano's message an opportunity to extend our discussions beyond the CFPs and the inserzioni cerco casa a trastevere.
