Cooperation in Dealing with Non-Traditional Security Issues in the
20-22 May 2010
The International Conference on “Cooperation in Dealing with Non-Traditional Security Issues in the South China Sea: Seeking More Effective Means” will be held jointly by the National Institute for the South China Sea Studies (NISCS) and the Lancashire Law School of the University of Central Lancashire from 20 to 22 May
Topics of Interest
To achieve the objectives of the Conference, authors are invited to submit papers which cover one of the following topic areas including:
1. Regional cooperation and joint development;
2. Safety of navigation and security of sea lanes;
3. Prevention and suppression of piracy and maritime terrorism;
4. Sustainable management of marine resources;
5. Marine Environmental Protection;
6. Marine scientific research;
Guidelines for Paper Presenters
1. The length of the paper proposal is between 300 and 500 words.
2. The length of the conference paper, including footnotes, should be between 6,000 and 9,000 words.
3. The references should be complete: name of author/s, publication year, title of the article/book/journal, place of publication, and publisher.
4. Figures, graphs and tables can be included if necessary.
5. The main text should be typed in fond or times 12, double-spaced.
6. All papers should be accompanied by an abstract of 100 words.
7. Authors should submit their brief biography together with the abstract.
8. The papers should follow the following structure in exact sequence: title of the paper, name of the author(s), abstract, main text, references, and/or appendices, if necessary.
9. On the cover, the author should indicate the following information: Country, Title of Paper, Name and Designation of the Presenter (e.g. Mr., Mrs., Ms., Dr., Prof., Prof. Dr., etc.), Institution or Agency, Contact Information (i.e. mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail, and/or website).
10. All submissions are preferably sent via email.
11. Papers to be delivered to the conference will be selected for publication after the conference.
