School of Environment and Development Postgraduate Research Funding

Awards: PhD Human Geography & PhD Physical Geography. 

 

The School of Environment and Development, University of Manchester will award a number of Postgraduate Research Scholarships and Teaching Bursaries for 2010 entry onto its PhD programmes.

 

Applications are welcome in areas of Human Geography or Physical Geography. Proposed research topics for Geography entry must clearly correspond to research expertise associated with one of Geography's four research groups: Environmental Processes; Quaternary Environments & Geoarchaeology; Geographical Political Economy; or Space, Culture and Society. Applicants are encouraged to informally discuss research ideas with prospective supervisors prior to making an application. 

Applications which would require joint supervision from other discipline areas will also be considered. Please make this clear in your application.

The deadline for full applications is 1st March 2010.  Incomplete applications cannot be considered and therefore early application is strongly recommended.
