COOKIES + COOLIES
Part of NEW OBJECT LESSONS 2010

Recommended to anyone with an interest in local heritage + migration,
COOKIES + COOLIES will look at the history of the Chinese diaspora
through everyday objects as well as items found in museums, archives +
libraries. The starting point of this new global journey will be a
bottle of beer - which will be used to explore Darwinism in China.
Throughout the workshop, participants will also be invited to reflect on:
a. the socio-political functions of storytelling + local history
b. museum strategies supporting the preservation + the transmission of community heritage
c. art history as a tool to generate cross-cultural content
