After meeting at an urban-focussed colloquium, they decided to collaborate to develop a colloquium focusing on their joint research interests. CUDEM CUDEM is based within the School of the Built Environment at Leeds Metropolitan University. The colloquium will take place at the universitys civic campus, about 15 mins walk from Leeds City Station, which is well connected nationally. The Centre for Urban Development and Environmental Management (CUDEM) provides an interdisciplinary environment for academic inquiry and policy-related research. Research focuses on the development of conceptual frameworks and their relevance to local, regional, national and international policy. Projects undertaken for the European Commission, UK government, and regional authorities have delivered agenda-setting research with significant contribution to the academy, policy and practice. This includes work on Green Infrastructure and the Urban Fringe.
