Subject: Re: [ACADEMIC-STUDY-MAGIC] The Pagan Census Revisited

Hi

It hasn't got to the PF so far, but I can do that. I can also forward it to some of the British and European networks of practitioners that have wide ranging membership and influence.

Obviously everyone here knows who you are, but for wider distribution it would help to have a simply worded, one page,  forwardable email telling the possible respondents who you are (with website links), what you have already achieved for Pagans with previous work, and what you hope to achieve here;  along with the usual ethical and anonymity assurances, and a very reliable link to the survey.

I know a lot of British Pagans did not fill in the GB census for all the usual reasons ranging from anarchist leanings to fear of Satanic Panic. Perhaps a paragraph from Helen with a link to Amazon to read postive reviews of the previous published results would help create trust and enthusiasm for the project.

best

Melissa.

What is the actual URL? Because I’ve done the survey already, when I go to the Survey Monkey page (by both trying to find it via Google and also by clicking the link from Chas Clifton’s blog), it goes to a “Thank You for taking this survey” page. That might be a slightly longer URL than the *actual* page for new survey takers. So, if you’d like me to spread it to my 2000+ very good (ha, ha, I hardly know 90% of them) Facebook friends, can you supply the original survey URL.

Thanks

~Caroline.

Subject: [ACADEMIC-STUDY-MAGIC] The Pagan Census Revisited

Dear Colleagues,

As some of you know, Helen Berger, Henrik Bogdam, and myself are re-doing the Pagan Census using 'Survey Monkey.' Thus far, we have received almost seven thousand responses, but less than one hundred are non-US. We had hoped this would be an international survey, and were wondering if anyone could suggest how we might attract more international Pagans to take the questionnaire?

Thank you.

All the Best,

Jim
